The long awaited Theme song for the African Cup Of Nations (AFCON) 2016 was finally released yesterday (September 20th) on the Cameroon Radio Television (CRTV) official Facebook page but thehotjem.com first saw it on I Rep Camer’s site! Although the lead singers are Charlotte Dipanda and Richard Kings and are very well known Cameroonian artists (Charlotte who is based in France has a huge following of Cameroonians and non-Cameroonians in Europe) the reviews of the video and song on Facebook showed that many Cameroonian’ s did not seem impressed by the theme song and/or video and had a lot to say about it! Watch the Video:

Now that you’ve watched the Video what are your thoughts about it? Was  it that bad or is this good enough for an official African Nation’s Cup song? Let’s see how this plays out over the next week or two but in the meantime checkout a few of the comments (snapshots taken from Facebook) from many who have watched the video. Here is what they had to say:

This is such a disgrace. Beyond unacceptable for a country with so many musical talents, starting with one as respected worldwide as Charlotte Dipanda. The whole project should be scratched, taken off all social media, destroyed and dumped into the trashbins of history. No, sorry… one copy should be kept at what currently serves as the National Archives in Cameroon so that duture generations can witness how far the Land of our Forefathers once descended.
