This week on our Music radar is a young rapper who goes by the name of Dopeboy Tremendous who just released a lyrics video on YouTube for his latest song called “My Thoughts” will co(we’ll come back to that later). Dobeboy who is originally from the South West Region of Cameroon was born and raised in a village called Muea. His story is quite interesting and as he put it;
I dropped out of the University due to life and personal issues. I started doing music at age 17 and I released few songs with my group at that time… but I decided to take ON a solo career as a rapper. – Dopeboy Tremendous
After listening to My Thoughts, we were curious to know what inspired Dopeboy Tremendous to write this new song as we got the feeling that he’s been burnt by people and/or friends as he repeatedly sings “Don’t tell me about now loyalty that sh*t is dead…” . So The HotJem reached out to him and asked him the following question:
THJ: Dopeboy what inspired you to write this song called “My Thoughts”?
Dopeboy Tremendous: What inspired me to write this new song “My Thoughts” is due to my craft and being slept on and my peers not believing in me. I have had physical and physiological rejection from peers that I thought believed in me so this is my response to them, a message to my hustlers out in the streets and to get a message out there to everyone to stay on their grind and depend on no one for approval on their passion. I keep on learning everyday and growing lyrically and I want everyone to know I’ll do my best to get better and better if they choose to support me on this journey.
The great thing about music is that it allow’s you to express yourself and your life’s struggles to allow your listeners to understand where you are coming from. Like many artists before him, he uses his personal experiences to relay his message and hopefully there is an overall growth experience that comes from one’s struggles in life. Although we are not big fans of the repeated use of the “N” word in Hip-Hop these days, we “get it”. So watch, listen and learn the lyrics to My Thoughts and tell us what you think about it.
