Rapper Nelly and Ashanti with the sultry voice have been making headlines for some time now. Their relationship might be new to some, but the two artists have come a long way even though they have been apart for a decade. If you think about it, there seems to be a trend with these two; their names always seem to pop up together every ten years or so. Read on to understand.
Nelly and Ashanti reportedly started dating in 2003, and even though they had an on and off romance, they always picked up the pieces and made their relationship work until 2013, when Ashanti and Nelly finally ended their relationship, partly due to cheating allegations on Nelly’s side.
Ten years later, in 2023, the rapper and beautiful songstress have been seen together in public places holding hands and causing media frenzy as fans began suspecting that they might be back together even though the couple did not put out any public statement, nor did they deny the rumors.
While performing in Vegas last month, Ashanti surprised fans by bringing on stage her ex-boyfriend Nelly, where they performed their 2010 hit song “Body On Me”. They looked very much into each other while performing, as if they decided to give love another chance. During an interview, while addressing these rumors, Ashanti confirmed that she and Nelly are in a better place and that they are both good and talk a lot.
On the other hand, Nelly also addressed the rumors and said,
“Time does wonders for a lot of different things. Time is one of those things that allows you time to reflect on what’s what and you get the chance to see things in different lives… we did that and i think we’re just friends.”
