As reported by Reuters, on Thursday October 13, a Brazilian court fined Apple Inc (AAPL.O) 100 million reais ($19 million) and ruled that battery chargers must come with new iPhones sold in the country.
Previously, Apple had announced that they will no longer be providing chargers and earbuds when selling iPhones and argued that the practice had the purpose of reducing carbon emissions as well as to reduce packaging size. Others have asked that if #Apple will no longer provide chargers, will the cost of the #iPhone reduce since iPhones always came with a charger and earbuds?
Apple has not yet addressed any reduction in prices for new iPhone. However, Apple said it will appeal the decision regarding the fines.
