Almost all radio and TV stations can now be accessed online and not as if this is all good news, because the bad news here is that, there has also been an increase in fake news from some imposters and unprofessional communicators. However, there are some communicators who have put in the work rate and professionalism required to inspire, advocate and inform the community. A name like that of Nfor Hanson Nchanji is supposed to be mentioned or called with a lot of respect. Hanson is a lot of things but since we are focusing on communication, let’s stick to the status quo… Lol!
Nfor is one of those ruthlessly determined and fearless men when it comes to communication. This man’s story will be easier to listen to than to try experiencing it yourself.
After making a mark for himself in the University of Buea as a student with Chariot Radio, he has since then gone on to be even more than what he gave while at school.
After graduating from school, a local TV station (news outlet) didn’t hesitate to pick him up for his services. His excellent delivery and fearlessness in digging deeper to things many feared to advocate for caused him a few issues after diligently offering his services for this outlet.
In 2016, this young man would become more than just a communicator. He would become an advocate fighting for people’s rights; possibly the most difficult part of being a communicator isn’t it? He became a voice when others were scared when Cameroon begun facing the highest crises that still continued till today. He became a torn on the governments flesh. Now an owner of a personal news outlet employing many youths, his Cameroon News Agency has been one of those agencies you can count on for local happenings… The advocacies for the rights of the vulnerable has not slowed down. He looks small but his brain is uncategorized when it comes to this game.
Rene Katche Echu
Now let’s talk about someone who was born for what he does best. Passion they say drives determination and oh yes, if that word was a person, it would or should be Rene katche.
There is communication in general but there is structured communication. You’ve got to respect anyone who makes you love sports. That’s to say you don’t have any choice but to fall for their conviction.
Rising from humble beginnings, Rene has changed the narrative in sports commentary and updates. The thing with him is that he will make you think it’s pretty easy till you try doing it like he does. After starting with a private radio station as a sports analyst and reporter, how good and strange he was in this field drew him closest to the biggest media outlet : the national Radio and television.
Cameroon Radio and Television (CRTV) saw how patriotic, determined and electrifying this guy is and had to bring him close and guess what, he is a part and parcel of the national station for obvious reasons.
The aforementioned have become and are serving as an inspiration to the new and uprising generation. They haven’t been here for decades, but they are surely doing what a lot of people didn’t do with the sumptuous opportunities they had.
