ABZTRUMENTAL, THE VOICE IN THE NOISE
The Cameroon music industry is richly blessed with so many unexploited talents. With exceptional talents like Abztrumental individually powering his career, one might be able to predict the future of the young growing industry already. While many young artists are burning bridges and putting away some serious relationships for buzz, this young Cameroonian is gradually marking time and learning from the mistakes of others. He’s just on his own lane doing exactly what his career demands.
With real name Yekabong Carven, the young ambitious artist who doubles as producer, hails from the North West Region of Cameroon. Like any other artist, Abz has had those ups and downs in his career that could have caused him to give up on the chase, but he has been able to turn those setbacks into opportunities and has made a powerful comeback.
He is the CEO of Legaci company, a label he is actually signed to as an artist. He was part of a music group called – Realm Squad, back in 2008. The group however broke up as time went by and he was offered a deal by Lollipop Records owned by Wax Dey. The relationship with the said label went south and led to what became like the most difficult stage in his career. However, Abz had to gather the pieces of his career together into what is today known as Lz Company.
As a young upcoming artist, some challenges might just be inevitable. One of such big challenges of being multi talented, is choosing what to focus on at a particular time. Abztrumental is not just an artist but he’s a producer, a recording artist, a performing artist and at the same time a dancer.
He has however chosen to focus on singing and production among many things. He sticks to his culture more than anything and that’s why all his songs are culturally inclined. He even won the Best New Act at the Urban Jamz Awards in 2019. As a producer, he has produced for some big names like Tzy Panchack, Daphne, Boy Tag, Gasha and a host of others. His work so far can not be underestimated for any reason.
