AFRO GOSPEL SINGER NKUH BANDY ATTEMPTS TO “STOP THE BLOODSHED” IN CAMEROON THROUGH HIS SONG OF PEACE
“…The Ambazonian kills the government kills and the unlucky die for the cause of another man…” – Nkuh Bandy
As the Anglophone problem aka “The Struggle” in Cameroon continues, more and more musicians are being more vocal about it via their music. Here is a newly released song by top Afro Gospel and Inspirational Artist, Nkuh Bandy called “Stop the Bloodshed” which is a song dedicated for dialogue and peace as a way forward for the on-going Anglophone problem/crises in Cameroon which has led to many Anglophones being killed and families fleeing away to safer grounds.
Nkuh Bandy is a composer, songwriter and performer who made his debut in 2016 titled King & Ruler. Later that year, he became “born again” (into a relationship with Jesus). With voices already heard as regarding the Anglophone problem that is plaguing the North West and South West Regions, Nkuh Bandy is determined to use this musical piece inspired by the Holy Spirit as he tries to touch the hearts of authorities at both ends to find a way to dialogue and end the killing of innocent Cameroonians.
The song and visuals for Stop the Bloodshed does a pretty good job in putting its message out there about coming together as a people to put and end to all the dying, the killings and the “bloodshed” resulting from this crises. Hence the name “Stop the Bloodshed“. The song is cruel reminder of the current state of what is going on in the Anglophone parts of Cameroon with images taken from a mix of real footage that were widely watched and shared on social media, plus some acting in it mimicking real life occurrences.
Though a song of hope, it has a melancholic message and shows the negative impact and effect of this internal war on children who are the future of the country, women who give birth to the future and young men. Nkuh Bandy encourages the population to believe in peace, love, forgiveness, and trust in God as a standard for life.
