Taking out his opponent in less than 20 seconds in a very much anticipated fight is only as easy as it sounds. Many call him the predator as he’s nicknamed and boy, this guy is worth that appellation.
Alright, the 33 year old Cameroonian is not really new in the game, and certainly not new to most UFC fans, but he has again stamped his name in the heavyweight division record books with a demolition job of Jairzinho Rozenstruik at UFC 249.
It is always said that, the best way to defeat your enemy and not even make it look like it was a big deal, is by simply taking them out unawares, and how prompt and direct was Ngannou when he met Rozenstruik on Saturday night? The Surinamese Rozenstruik though not a favorite on the night surely didn’t expect what happened to him.
Just immediately after the referee’s whistle had gone, Ngannou would use his sledgehammer hands on his opponent, leaving punch, after punch and before we could focus on a retaliation from his opponent, it was already game over. 18 seconds plus two other seconds which the refree would use to stop the combat making it 20 seconds.
You won’t see any K.O like that anytime soon. Even some fans who were watching in confinement said the win was very precise and abrupt. Some fans even pleaded with the Cameroonian after congratulating him, to please let them enjoy the fight next time.
When I heard he called me out, I knew that he didn’t know what he’s doing. He has a lot of potential, but I think he has to take a step back and then get ready before fighting against someone like me,” – Francis Said.
He later on took to his Twitter to acknowledge his opponent’s courage saying he has nothing but respect for a man who believes in himself.
