Beyonce opened the 2016 BET Awards, looking flawless. In an unannounced appearance, she performed her “Freedom” song from her recent “Lemonade” album. Standing in a giant pool of water and surrounded by dancers bathed in a red light, Beyonce delivered a powerful performance
Kendrick Lamar who was featured on the album version of the track, emerged from below the floor in front of the stage to spit his verse and later on joined Beyonce in the pool of water as they both stomped through the song’s epic finale. The amazing performance ended with Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar standing side by side, with Beyonce resting her arm on Kendrick’s shoulder. Beyonce later on became the biggest winner of the night, taking home 4 BET Awards. The awards included; Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, the Video of the Year, Centric Award and Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award for “Formation”
