Just few days ago, Big Brother Nigeria (BBNaija) came to an end with Laycon emerging as winner of the sixth edition. Biggy 237 which is a Cameroonian reality TV show and a baby compared to BBNaija, will kick off its first ever season a few weeks after BBNaija will finalize this weekend.
The First ever Biggy 237 season which launched on January 10, 2020, but started five months later due to the COVID-19, ends tomorrow Saturday October 2, 2020. The game started with at least 25 contestants and nine out of the 25 will be contesting for the 10 million Grand prize tomorrow and of course only one person has got to walk away with that prize.

The winner will be decided based on votes from outside the house, and from social media reactions, the winner might just be very obvious as one of the contestants have been on top of voting charts. The game which has Vannithel, Akere Nerisa, Fotso Brany Brown Popsy, Zita Minaj, MC Claire Bacha Blanche, TJ Achiri Victor as the remaining nine contestants has not all been milk and honey.
Akere Nerisa and Brown Popsy have been gaining considerable attention and their stakes are relatively high but being a game, anyone can walk away with the prize come Saturday. However, we take a look at how the game has beaten the expectations of most Cameroonians.
The game started with a lot of lapses as expected but shaped itself along the way. Looking at a prize worth 10 million FCFA, this is not really small money for a Cameroonian to win after only two months of being on the show, considering that many have been jobless and unemployed right after graduating from school.
The game did not have what it takes to be compared to Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) which was already at it’s 6th season, but it has done a lot of good than bad in our opinion, empowering youths where we see evicted housemates picking up endorsements form left to right and making right business and entrepreneurial call weeks after their eviction from the house.
The game has been entertaining and has got a lot of people talking. It is clear that there will always he that group of people who look deeper into initiatives like this, the ones who believe, the ones who don’t and the ones who are neutral. However, Cameroonians whether they are satisfied or not can at least walk home with a lot to be proud about.
At the end the, Cameroonians now have their own reality show and with many already anticipating the commencement of the Second season for perfection and bigger things, we are left anticipating the final of the first season. We can’t Play the octopus role in predicting but we are hoping for a merited victory for which soever house mate who will walk away with the prize.
