Martial Arts is gradual making a bigger presence in Africa! Who ever knew that there would be a festival dedicated to this? Cameroon definately wants a piece of the martial arts action as first edition of the African Festival of Martial Arts aka Festival Africain Des Arts Martiaux (FADAM) which is said to be the largest martial arts festival in Africa, will be taking place in Cameroon on April 6th, 2018 at Palais de Sports in Yaounde and on April 7th, 2018 at Olympia in Douala.
FADAM which is organized by the Shoalin Black and White International Association was founded by Dominique Saatenang, a Cameroonian who is a Shaolin Monk and an expert in Kung Fu. Saatenang who is nicknamed by the media as “the African Bruce Lee”, is the Cultural Ambassador of the Shaolin Temple and a 2006 Kung Fu World Champion.
The festival is said to welcome more than 500 martial artist from 50 countries, world personalities and international so you know this will be an event not to miss!! There are rumors that Jackie Chan or Jean-Claude Van Damme will be attending the event! If they do then this will be huge. FADAM will be a yearly event that will take place in a different African country so for those of you in Cameroon, don’t miss out on this oppurtunity to see all these martial artists showcase their art.
