She goes by the name of Deenah and she is signed to BGC Melody – a Cameroonian/American record label (based in the US, Germany & Cameroon) and she has just released the visuals to her new track called #DeenahIsServed. Since the release of her audio Deenah is Served, The HotJem reaches out to her label to find out more about the artist and we were able to listen to a small piece of another song of Deenah’s (title we don’t know) and were told that she would be releasing her first album under BGC Melody later this year.
The pint size rapstress (a nickname we give to female rappers) comes across as a big soul in her music and we think she has some serious skill and if she keeps it up with her work consistently, there is no doubt that she might just be that game changer to the female rap music in Cameroon and Africa as a whole. So watch out for her and wait for that upcoming album.
One thing we’ve noted about the BGC Melody label is that they did not come here to play as they are putting in a lot of time, money and effort to ensure that all their artists come out with complete studio albums and not EP. Therefore, they have been working with various Music Producers in Congo, Ghana, Germany and Cameroon to do this.
Currently signed under the BGC Label are Congolese Artist Elie Solo who just released his first studio album with them, German-based Bah’Ndong (who is a Hip-Hop/Afro beat/ any music genre you can think of since he’s talented like that artist) and his album is dropping in November 2018 and Deenah who they hope will change the way people see female rappers and who they want to make a household name in Africa.
