CAMEROONIAN GOSPEL ARTISTS ON THE STEADY RISE
Ghany Cosmos
Ghany Cosmos who hails from the North-west Region of Cameroon is a phenomenal uprising gospel artist the world has to know. “Chapitre Cinq” known in English as “chapter Five” is his stage name.
Chapitre Cinq 27, started his career as gospel artist in 2010. Signed to LightHouse Music, the young Cameroonian gospel rapper has been putting in some noticeable work over.
It is very rare to see many rappers who embark in gospel music. However, Chapitre took the hard route and is making it look really simple. He can do all things through christ who strengthens him anyway, so why wouldn’t he be a success. There might only be a few gospel rappers who went ahead to succeed in this domain. Many quitted and many didn’t even venture at all.
Choosing to do gospel rap and sticking to it, is some courage that must be saluted. He believes he can preach the gospel through his rap verses/music. He believes it’s his call and he can’t can’t but use it just the way he’s doing.
Staying consistent in rap music for ten years and counting, considering how excellent he is with biblical bars, winning the “Best Gospel Act” at “Almost a Night Award” in 2019, didn’t come as surprise to many.
He’s on a steady rise and he might end up making a long lasting name in this domain , he sure wants that, and who would not want to see him list among other great African gospel rappers?
There is still much work to be done by him though. He’s got to make sure his music in available on music platforms for consumption. It isn’t done with words though, but it takes money and a good team. which Is what many talented young African musicians are facing.
