Cameroonian record label Hope Music Group (HMG) has signed it’s first international act. They have signed a distribution deal with Beninese artist, Fanicko ‘DeJesus’. SIgned on the 25th of July, Fanicko is the first non Cameroonian artist to join the HMG Family.
Fanicko revealed his talent to the world with his first hit “On va faire comment?” and since then Fanicko has become a true icon of Afropop, first in his native country of Benin in West Africa and now everywhere around the continent. He has also put out other hits like “Tu fait trop la bouche” and recently “Zakounana”, gaining him a nomination for the upcoming Kora Awards in the category of Best Newcomer.
Hope Music Group is fast becoming a leader in music publishing/distribution in the continent since they signed with the international firm, Sony Music Entertainment in 2015. So Fanicko coming on board the HMG train to join artists like Dynastie Le Tigre, Michael Kiessou, Les Featurists amongst several others can only broaden his horizon. This is definately a good move for any upcoming artist.
‘Tourne ça bien’ is Fanicko’s latest single and first single under HMG. Listen to the track below
Congratulations to Fanicko as we wish him and HMG, the best of their collaboration!
