Nollywood actor Chinedu Ekedieze, popularly known as Aki, has indirectly acknowledged his separation from his first wife after 13 years together. The actor married fellow actor Nneoma Nwaija, whom he met on the set of a movie where they both played central roles.
They tied the knot in November 2011, and the 46-year-old has always prioritized keeping his family life private, with little information shared on social media.
However, 2024 brought shockwaves when the actor publicly confirmed his separation from his first wife via social media. He also introduced his “soul mate,” Stephanie Promise, wishing her a happy birthday on his Instagram page and describing her as his “world” and “love.”
The actor recently welcomed a child with his new partner, Stephanie Promise, as mentioned in his earlier post. Shockingly, he disclosed that he has other children with Stephanie, including two daughters and their newborn son, Ivan Ekedieze.
In contrast to the backlash often seen in the comment sections of celebrities who announce separations, the actor’s Instagram comments were filled with praise and congratulations from his Nollywood colleagues.
While the exact date of his separation from his first wife remains unconfirmed, it’s clear that the veteran actor is now living a new life with the mother of his three children. This marks the first time in 13 years that he has shared exclusive details about his personal life with his followers.
Chinedu Ekedieze has been a part of the Nollywood film industry since the year 2000, when he starred alongside Osita Iheme in “Aki Na Ukwa,” a movie that catapulted both of them to stardom. With nearly 25 years of experience in the movie industry, he has appeared in a plethora of films.
