Hi my loves! Its Sunday and I wish the weekend had an extra day to it! It flies by quickly when you have fun. One of the things I do is to take “Selfie” pics (headshot pictures of myself via a cellphone) especially if I put on my own make-up and loved it, had a new hairstyle which I loved or for any other reason. I feel I might want to duplicate a particular look I had so I take a selfie so that I could look back at it. But for those of you on Facebook, you know that taking a selfie picture is the fastest way to take a picture of yourself and post it via your phone. For me I primarily take selfie’s to also see the condition and state of my skin over a period of time. With the constant change in weather, my skin changes with it too.
Picture shows: liquid facial soap for very mild skin, Clarifying lotion and the Moisturizing Lotion
I normally have dry skin and it has always been a challenge finding good facial moisturizers that don’t dry up my skin to prevent premature wrinkling or flaking. Another concern for most women is acne… Some facial moisturizers trigger me to have this problem (very rarely) as they tend to make my face oily and not feeling moisturized. Due to my sensitive skin, I began my hunt for the perfect body/facial care and I finally found a few that work for me that I am sticking to for now. I wanted to share this with you because I have been asked what I use to keep the balance between not so dry and not oily skin.
I currently use the Clinique 3 Step Skin Care system which includes a Facial soap (you can choose form liquid and bar soap), Clarifying lotion and Moisturizing lotion. I use #2 as they go by numbers based on your skin type. the only exception is with my liquid soap which I switched to #1 recently as I found that the #2 still made my skin feel dry after washing it.
During the winter I battle between several favorites (I’m talking about body lotions). I love scented body lotions but most of them make my skin instantly dry the second it touches my skin. So I use an oily liquid lotion called Bio-Oil which is a nice not so thick but oily liquid lotion that I mix with other scented body lotions that I love to use. According to the manufacturers of Bio-Oil, it supposedly reduces the effects of stretch marks and the skin aging process. Don’t ask me how! But I can tell you one thing, my skin never gets dry anymore when I add this oily component to any of my favorite scented/perfume lotions. Give it a try but I would not advise anyone who has oily skin to use this. For more information on ingredients and formulation please visit their website at: http://bio-oilusa.com/en-us.
One of my favorite scented/fragrance body lotions is Pleasures Body Crème by Estée Lauder. It smells so good and feminine and when I put it on me, there is never a need to use perfume as the scent lasts with me all day and even until my clothes are washed! Another favorite scented lotion I use is Dream Angels: Angel Luxe Cream Oil by Victoria Secret and a couple of others from Bath and Body Works.
In addition to Clinique another favorite moisturizer that I use particularly during the hot summers is by Clarins. I will post information on this when the weather gets warmer. I will do a another post soon on tips to carefully remove makeup from your face and best ways to wash and moisturize your neck and face. Coming soon are tips on on how to keep your lips and nails moisturized all year round! xoxo… M.E
