Ghanaian dance hall and reggae artist Stonebwoy could make more history by taking the Ghanaian music industry to another level.There is no doubt that African music us being consumed in the world market. It is however impotent to note that breaking into the world music market is not just a wish, but involves tremendous effort and constant hard work.
African musicians work their lives out and sometimes don’t still get the opportunity to make big moves. Since Nigeria broke into the US music market, it’s been an encouragement for other artists to get their craft beyond international boundaries.

2019 saw Beyonce, feature some big African names Like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Salatiel, Mr Eazi, just to name a few.
This was some confirmation that the world was ready to consume African music. 2020 has surprised everyone with COVID-19 and slowed every activity, but there are still some big moves anyway. Ghanaian dance hall sensation and Bet Award -Stonebwoy succeeded to feature Keri Hilson in his new track titled “Motivate”.
Being the first to bring Keri to the studio after her music break cannot be under-looked. Keri Hilson who’s known for her hit song “Knock You down” ft Kanye West, was off the music scenes for over six years and returned by featuring Stonebwoy.

Just a week after the release of the Afro pop song (Motivate) speculations now have it that the Ghanaian could feature Grammy award winner – Rihanna too. Keri, While on a live stream with Stonebwoy, revealed which artist she thinks the Ghanaian should feature next. She said she would want to see Stone feature Rihanna. She affirmed that Rihanna had a Carribean vibe that could kill any song. Having that Carribean vibe will suit the Ghanaian music style. The Ghanaian however said it would be great to feature both Rihanna and Keri.
Rihanna has been off the music scene for over four years now, and if she had to make a come back by featuring in Stonebwoy’s song, this could mean a lot to the Ghanaian music industry generally and to Stonebwoy personally.
While the world continues to battle COVID-19, Ghanaian’s are putting their fingers crossed, hoping this doesn’t end up in a wish but come to reality. Watch “Motivate” by Stonebwoy ft Keri Hilson:
