Ugandan gentleman Daouda Kavuma deserves all plaudits for the impeccable job he has done with the popular Kampala kids who are trending across social media for the right reasons.
Assembling ‘broken’ kids/children from different backgrounds and rebuilding hope in them, to the extent of reviving life and giving them purpose, is often easier said than done.
Since qualifying for the semifinals of Britain’s Got Talent a few days ago, following their breathtaking performance, which judges all described as ‘an experience never witnessed on the show before,’ they have garnered even more admiration from the public for their display and their consistent efforts over these years, which are evidently paying off.
Wondering what this group of young talented Africans is all about?
They’re a young dance group, made up of orphans, who come from different backgrounds and have been sheltered under one roof by a brave African man, Daouda Kavuma, who is changing the narrative with philanthropy and charity on his own terms. As his own way to give back to his community, he has under his auspices 30 orphans who have gone to Britain’s Got Talent and given Africans a reminder that the most precious packages are truly wrapped in unpleasant packages.
He plans to build a bigger infrastructure just to help more children like these. Triplet Ghetto Kids, under their manager and patron, have been able to amass an unspeakable social media following within a very short period, which is as follows at the time of this post: Instagram: 3.5 million, TikTok: 3.6 million, Facebook: 2.2 million.
One of the reasons for their success thus far has been teamwork and togetherness. According to them, they come from different backgrounds, but they have been taught to share one another’s pain and happiness, hence no one is more important than the other.
Their passion was primarily to just dance their pain away and also put a smile on other people’s faces. However, it’s incredibly staggering how it’s now become an employer, and suddenly what’s making these ‘hopeless’ kids travel the world at such a tender age, thanks to a man who put his pleasure aside to raise a new hope in the next generation.
Qualifying for the semifinals of Britain’s Got Talent is definitely their biggest achievement and after seeing their display a few days ago, it won’t be surprising if they just return to Africa with the prize.
Whether or not they bag the winning prize, they have achieved one of the most precious goals; stepping on such a visible platform and their history will never be the same again. Daouda has just sent a silent message to us all that there’s nothing too little for us to do to impact other people’s lives positively!
