Pseudonym as “Cameroon’s finest, Head of gophmen”, artistically, Fhishofficial is unquestionably one of the musical sensations and revelations in the past five years, that Cameroon hadn’t had in a long time. His ability to revamp and restructure the pop culture to suit his style and the listening pleasure of Cameroonians, converting them from normal music listeners to fans has been incredibly noticeably.
After a release of one of the biggest EPs in the country “I’m Kamerun”, Fhish found his talent being applauded, when he saw his first video off the EP “Njoh” feat Longue Longue, hit one Million views, a milestone that many automatically become more motivated whenever they reach. With a twinkle of an eye, Fhish career started taking a downturn when fans expected the reverse. Many questions were being posed as to what the future held for the talented lad. Admirably, he went through a period of condemnation, rejection but then, the Biggy Studios call came to him like a prelude, what we can consider, a rehabilitation and career rejuvenating opportunity.
Fhish entry in to the game sparked quite some excitement and doubts, as to what was the objective of bringing a celebrity in the house.
Based on reliable info relayed from the organization of the show, Fhish applied for the show himself and wasn’t even proposed the opportunity. As a Cameroonian youth, who passed the eligibility requirements, he was accepted into the house, and since then, it’s been from one drama to the other, but it’s been all a game and good vibes.
Popular opinion holds it that having clustered a huge fan following before the game, he had an added fan advantage. As a matter of fact, these are simply facts. People without a page, talk more of an identified fan base are competing with a public figure, but in as much as it would make them work harder, more responsibility is demanded from the one with the huge following. Next line…
We need to be clear that having huge following doesn’t guarantee automatic support. Your inability to communicate and relate with the outside world can mess up the whole thing, with the blink of an eye. We’ve seen celebrities, with public stands and followings, lose on big stages while competing with “Smaller” persons, especially when voting is concern. They fail to activate voters and depend on the ones who can vote, and before they know it, the ones who respect the process despite having a small following are smacking it home.
It’s empirical or logical that we give kudos and acknowledgements to Fhish’s social media handler or PR, who understands basic communication tactics and tricks. Another person will mess it up and that will be the end of the game, especially when the public already held a stiff notion about Fhish.
In a nutshell, it is undeniable that Fhish’s status has an added advantage, but it’s unarguable that his management have been superb, to concert music lovers, to reality tv supporters because of their contestant. Denying this is denying excellence and competence. Even if Fhsih doesn’t win the game at the end of the day, he must have won the hearts of Cameroonians.
He’s free from nominations this week, and he even gave up his house Captaincy to another contestant. That’s strategically genius; don’t write that off! He knows how to get the public to dance to his new dance steps!
