Cameroonian recording artist, music producer, songwriter and the CEO of Alpha Better Records – Salatiel, might be sailing in deep thoughts in wonderland after his fans seemingly show no excitement for his upcoming release.
The High Man General as he refers to himself as, teased his fans yesterday (June 29th), that he would release the teaser if they gave him 30,000 likes and will drop the video if they gave him 50,000 likes.
He also posted on his Instagram page and said if he got 10,000 likes, he will release the video of the song which he considers a hit. Qu’est qui n’a pas Marché? (What went wrong?). We are assuming he is referring to people liking the comment where he asked for the 30,000, 50,000 ans 10,000 likes.
Salatiel currently has over 445,000 Facebook subscribers and at the time of this article being published on June 30, he only has just 2.6K reactions to his post on Facebook and not even up to 2K likes to his post on Instagram one day after his request. I think this is disheartening but also a great way to test your fanbase and know how many people are down with you.
This is exactly one of the reasons why many artists are scared to release projects and back-to-back singles because the support from fans is almost absent. With everything he’s achieved in the past few years and work he’s put in over the years, if Salatiel fans cannot give him 30,000 likes when asked by the General himself, do you think another uprising singer will be that motivated to make such a move?
Dear fans, please support these artists and boost their confidence level by showing them love on and offline. The unwillingness by his fans to not do as he requested is clear sign that they’re not ready for new music but will be the first to blame him and point fingers are him if the artist does not release any new songs.
Showing artists some love, especially those who clearly put in the work like the General himself, motivates them to continue. If an artists asks you to like and react to a post they made in order for them to drop their next project, it’s also a way for them to see who’s paying attention to them.
What does it take to just like or react to their post? This is how artists can gage if you follow them as well. Do well to support those artists you say you love.
