Steve Harvey reveals that one of his teachers mocked and reprimanded him when he said he wanted to become a tv presenter. She even went as far as calling his parents to ridicule him after he had revealed his dream. However, Steve’s father encouraged him despite that he used to stutter.

As a challenge, he took it upon himself to become a TV personality and an influential one at that. Since getting on TV, he decided to gift her (the teacher) a TV every Christmas period.
His reason being that he wanted her to watch him on TV to have what he became despite her discouragement.
