The 2016 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards (commonly referred to as the iHeartRadio MMVAs) were held on June 19, 2016 outside 299 Queen Street West in Toronto, Canada. Hosted by Gigi Hadid, the even had breath taking performances from Fifth Harmony, Nick Jonas and Desiigner also performing his hit single “Panda”
Drake being the biggest winner of the night, took home five trophies for the viral sensation that was “Hotline Bling,” including Video of the Year, Best Hip-Hop Video and a Best Director win for Director X. He also took home the coveted Most Buzzworthy Canadian award.
Drake himself was not present at the event, but presenter Amber Rose noted: “[Drake] wanted to come. He’s shooting a video in the Dominican Republic right now but he told me personally that he loves you guys so much and he wishes he could be here.”
