Nigerian superstar artist David Adeleke aka Davido, is one of the most popular African artists right now. Although Davido has a lot on his plate as singer and as the CEO of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), he has impressively managed to be consistent with his career and that of the people in his 30 billion “Davido gang” circle for several years now and despite having won a plethora of awards, there’s still one more important award on Davido’s wishlist.
Because there is endless competition between his compatriots and rivals; Burna Boy and Wizkid, who have all won Davido’s dream award, the Grammy, Davido feels left behind and won’t stop at anything until he’s in the list of Grammy Award winners.
After recording his “Timeless” album, Davido’s hopes of winning his first ever Grammy, were alive. He was eventually nominated in three categories, but still ended up not winning in any of those.
The “Unavailable” singer was disappointed as yet again, he wasn’t honored by an award he feels he deserved to win. Davido revealed in an interview that “everyone” around him knows his prayer point, and it is to win the Grammy’s.
Davido will have to go back to the studio and record another album to target the 2025 Grammy Awards after failing to grab one in the latest edition.
In as much as 001 failed to win, he has continued with his philanthropic works, recently donating 300 Million Naira to an orphanage in his country Nigeria. This is just one of the many generous gestures by Davido.
There are some very iconic musicians who’ve never won a Grammy, despite their dominance in the music industry. Davido would want to not be identified in that category.
Therefore, he will have to come back stronger in 2025 to secure one from himself. Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tems, etc have been privileged to win this award and it would be everlasting pain if Davido doesn’t win it at some point in his career.
