THJ: Hi BeingNgang… thank you for taking the time to do this interview with The HotJem. I know that you are US-based and might be living in Minnesota. Can you tell us a little bit about yourself such as: where are you from in Cameroon and when did you leave Cameroon to go abroad”
BeingNgang: I am from Mankon, Bamenda. Particularly, Council Junction, Sacred Heart Junction, Alakuma Junction, yeah, that is my whole area. I left Cameroon in 2008, October 2008.
THJ: It quite interesting to see how precise you are about where you are from in Bamenda. That must really be your town! Why did you go abroad and not stay in Cameroon?
BeingNgang: Low key, I wished I would have stayed. However, if I did stay, I am not sure I would have known all that I know now. I came here for a better life, like most people.
THJ: We know you are into the music scene so tell us when and how did you get into music?
BeingNgang: I am a hobbyist actually, more of an artist than a musician. I always have melodies playing in my head and every now and then I put them down on music software’s like Pro tools, or Garageband.
THJ: In addition to being an artist would you also consider yourself as a fashion model, an influencer or neither and if you are also a model, did you start doing music and modeling at the same time or did one lead to the other?
BeingNgang: I am not a model at all. However, I have modeled and walked the runway before because I have connections and know people who will let me. Honestly, I am just a fashion enthusiast, a voguish man and about being an influencer, I will like to have more influence than I have right now if I do have any at all.
BeingNgang: Also to address your question on me being a model and artist at the same time or if one lead to the other, I will just like to say I am neither a model or musician, just a creative mind with the ability and resources to look good as well as create good music. And I am actually pleased that you would think I am a model, thank you!
THJ: Which of the two do you prefer?
BeingNgang: Hahahahaha, both! Who wouldn’t want to be both? Model and musician no be small thing oh!
THJ: I hear you Ngang! E no easy for be model and musician hahaha! Going back to the music, what genre of music would you consider yourself as and what inspired you to get into that genre of music versus R&B or any other type of music genre?
BeingNgang: I would say Afrobeat’s and yeah, lately I have just been looking for ways to connect more with my roots/background and Afrobeat’s just happens to be one of the directions in which that aspect of BeingNgang – my life has flowed.
