Africa is fast expanding and leaving it’s mark on the global Fashion scene. Gone are the days when people were either ashamed or reluctant to wear bold African prints and what you will find now is that African print fabric sellers are starting to boom in business with the demands to have African print clothes made. One fashion designer who is making sure her love for African Prints benefits from this demand in African Print is award winning US-based Cameroonian Model and Designer Afor Tenye, the Founder of Stitches by Tenye with the release of Phoenix, an introductory collection in a series of collections to come.
Created to represent the inspiration and personality of its Founder, “Stitches by Tenye” is a contemporary woman’s fashion brand that aims to satisfy the stylish urge of the urban woman by incorporating vibrant African prints with a modern designs. We love the elegance, sophistication and sylish characteristics of the Phoenix collection which is made up of 13 designs, 6 of which is being showcased exclusively on THEHOTJEM.COM. Phoenix is for today’s modern African woman who is confident, bold and a goal getter.
The HotJem reached out to Afor Tenye and asked why she is releasing Phoenix on Easter Sunday and this is what she had to say “Because I have taken out some time to discover my talents and what I find pleasure in doing so just like Jesus rising from the dead, I felt it will be the perfect time for me to have a rebirth for my modeling career and my designing and sewing skills– hence the name Phoenix”
