Launches Networking Series for Aspiring & Seasoned Beauty, Fashion, and Style Professionals
“The Collective: Fashion Networking Mixer”
NEW YORK, NY (Mach 25, 2015) Calling all makers and lovers of Fashion… join the International – Coalition for African Fashion (I-CAF) for the 1st in a series of professional networking events designed to promote and celebrate artisans on Friday, April 10th at 6pm in Chelsea, New York City.
Meet the brains behind the beauty that is African Fashion and hear the motivating stories behind African and African-Inspired brands!!
Hosted by the world-renowned DPiper Twins & Kibonen,|NY, the mixer is free and open to the public. Supporters of African Fashion and community members are welcome. Stylists, bloggers, fashion writers, buyers, and retailers are especially encouraged to attend and spruce up their Spring and Summer 2015 apparel and accessory lineups.
Attendees are encouraged to “party with a purpose,” after work, while enjoying delectable tapas from Senegalese chef Pierre Thiam, international inspired drinks, and Afro Beats. Meridan 23 at 161 W23rd Street in Chelsea, New York is the place to be Friday, April 10th from 6pm-9pm.
About The International-Coalition for African Fashion
I-CAF has hosted various events to reflect the diversity of African fashion including an inaugural pop-up shop on October 18, 2014 and a two-day shopping and culture expo from December 12-13, 2014 and a Winter shop on February 28, 2015.
According to Sudie Nallo, I-CAF CEO, I-CAF’s role is to, “grow the collective of African-Inspired artisans and make African fashion more accessible through networking and support.”
I-CAF is a nonprofit industry association whose membership consists of designers, suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, media, and consumers with the common goal of promoting the mainstream sustainability of African fashion. Established in 2014, I-CAF embraces and raises awareness about African and African-Inspired fashion through content-driven events, networking, and collaborative initiatives. I-CAF continues to build and connect a global community that supports growth and sustainability in the African fashion industry on the continent and abroad for commercial consumption.
