The summit with the theme “Blogging as a tool for development“ was organized by a group of Francophone bloggers otherwise known as l’Association des Blogueurs du Cameroun (ABC) translated into English as The Association of Bloggers of Cameroon, also (ABC), who have supposedly analyzed the importance of blogging in Cameroon and how blogging could be used as a tool to develop Cameroon. Therefore, the summit ‘s overall agenda and activities was to support and drive this theme.
The initiative was hosted by Rene Jackson Nkowa, the president of the Association of Francophone Bloggers Union. It was originally a Francophone initiative, but they decided to invite some prominent Anglophone bloggers to attend the summit so that both blogging communities (Anglophone and Francophone) could possibly team up and take the blogging activity into a recognized and acceptable profession, since some people (Cameroonian’s) still consider blogging as a time waster or hobby.
