Martial artist and boxer Francis Ngannou might not be returning to the fighting ring according to speculations by Marca. The Former heavyweight champion recently lost his son Kobe, tragically and the situation has left the 37-year-old devastated and perplexed.
Ngannou’s ascent has been remarkable despite experiencing setbacks in his debut boxing matches. His first loss against Tyson Fury ended controversially, and he also faced defeat against Anthony Joshua, both matches taking place in Saudi Arabia.
While many fans hoped for the “Predator” to bounce back from consecutive losses in the boxing ring, it seems the wait may be longer than anticipated, or it could possibly mark the end of his career as a fighter. Ngannou’s coach, Cooper, revealed that the situation has left the PFL competitor feeling restless and depressed.
“He’s taking it day by day. I haven’t even thought about a fight or what he’s going to do as far as fighting. My heart is just with him. I just wish him healing and somehow to be able to live with this. It’s bad. And it’s very sad,” Cooper said.
He also insists that any decision Ngannou takes will be supported by his team regardless of the consequences.
“Whatever he wants to do, of course we support. If it were totally up to me, of course I’d like to see him box again. He has the ability and talent to do it. The Joshua fight didn’t go our way, it just wasn’t our night that night, but you guys have seen the ability he has against Fury and there’s several heavyweights he could beat out there, for sure,” Copper continued via Marca.
Ngannou may be away for some time, but we have faith that he’ll overcome the challenges and return stronger than ever. There’s unfinished business for him in the fighting world, especially with his friend Kamaru Usman suggesting a potential match between Ngannou and Usyk. Usyk recently clinched victory over Tyson Fury to claim the heavyweight championship title, adding more excitement to the prospect of future events.
