Born on February 27, Etah Tambe Nyenti popularly known by his stage name Tzy Panchak also pseudonymously called “Greatness” is one of the few artists to have rooted himself strongly into the hearts of his people via his music.
From being born in Mamfe, Cameroon to moving to Nigeria where he grew into adulthood, acquiring a BSc in Computer Engineering and then relocating back to Cameroon to pursue his music career, Panchak’s dream to be a man of the people has come to reality but this was not all about prayer and fasting alone, even 40 nights in the wilderness wouldn’t be enough.
After returning to Cameroon, Tzy Panchak jumped into the Best Music studio and served a viral cover of Kiss Daniel’s Woju which was a big hit in Cameroon at the time. The cover went viral and Panchak’s music career would witness an irresistible transition when Blu Nation Recording came knocking. It is fair to say the rest is history but in just five years of signing for Blu Nations, he hasn’t only been an artist, but has been an ambassador, an advocate and a soldier for the label, something very rare to find in artists nowadays.
When he released “Stay With Me” in 2015, many music lovers could already picture a talented artist with a bright future. Though things looked all nice and cool, there was still a lot of work to be done, like having to battle in the streets to Foster the promo of his music especially in a country where music is hardly bought.
Panchak recounted how he would move from street to town contacting DJs and promoters to the point where he even got robbed at a very perilous time in his career. This was a point to either give in or standout and you can guess the option.
He battled with the French media timelessly as his songs wouldn’t be aired for reasons still unexplained. He is one of the few Cameroonian artists who fearlessly held the bull by the horn addressing societal and political ills in the country especially with issues concerning the most feared topic “The Anglophone Crises”.
Tireless after contributing to national growth and patriotic works, he delved into Industry building, still at a struggling level. As one of the first few artists from Anglophone Cameroon to have sold out a show in the US at the peak of his career, Panchak’s life as an artist moved from good to better and he could possibly be living his best life as it stands.
Talking about Industry building, He has Unarguably put more artists in the spotlight than any other artist without signing them. He, beside Mr. leo is one of the few artists to have collaborated with more artists and willing to do so anytime at every given point.
One of the major highlights of his careers which proved that he has earned his place in the hearts of Cameroonians that has crowned him a man of the people was back in 2020, when he hosted his “Live Session” a milestone hit by still a few artists in the industry. The point is Panchak’s’s live concert in 2020 was a never seen before hence a sold out show in a luxurious location!
Recently, he lost his Father Chief Etah Tambe. He must have died a happy man, after Panchak’s achievements. Every true father deep down wants their son to be successful and Panchak is a success. He could be heading to the US again for another tour which is pending confirmation.
In conclusion, Tzy Panchak’s journey to becoming a man of the people has been challenging, humbling but motivational. He’s got himself rooted in the hearts of true music lovers. A cute smile to spice up the struggles and a beautiful voice to heal souls. His discography sure needs another article if we must talk about that.
