It’s been over a week now since anyone one Social Media especially Facebook with a keen eye on music related information must have noticed and come across the photo below announcing and anticipating the launch of the Video “Dey Witi Ma Mendem” for a song performed by a Cameroonian artist called Street King, the popular singer of the song,“Bad Feeling” from Tiko.
Noteworthy is the fact that the said post made by a Facebook account allegedly owned by Street King mentions the fact that Mic Monsta, CEO of Kwata Music Inc. record label, alongside a handful of other artists will be performing at the Video launch said to take place at the Tiko Airport Hotel on April 14th, 2018 at 7 PM. The reason we are bringing this incident with Mic Monsta his PR and Street King is because we want to highlight that if it was true that Mic Monsta was not booked to perform and did not agree to have his name and pictures used to promote that he will be performing, then it is wrong to use an artist or anyone’s name and/or photo’s to promote something and telling people that those artists will be partaking in an event if the artist did not agree to participate in the event or was not booked.

This applies to anyone as well and not only artists. We have been seeing more and more flyers and advertisements using peoples pictures and name to promote products or an event without their consent. The right way to do things is to reach out to the artist or public figure and BOOK THEM. Read on to better understand want really went on in this Mic Monsta/Street King saga…
This particularly hasn’t gone well with Mic Monsta’s PR – Gina (who is also a blogger of the blog site called Miss Gina Promotes) as she has continuously refuted the statement about the possibility of Mic Monsta taking part at Street King’s video launch, meanwhile Street King on his part insists that he already had that sorted with the said Artist also known as “Mic Njorku” in person and has nothing to say in regards to Gina’s denials.
He goes further to rekindle old memories of the favor he had done for Mic Monsta the last time Mic invited him for something similar while launching his works in Kumba, adding that Mic stills owes him one for that and so feels bad to hear such from his PR Girl. He adds, “I really ashamed of some people”… allegedly referring to Mic’s PR Girl also known as Gina.
When asked why she didn’t make her statement via inbox or less publicly, Gina replied that it wasnt the first time she’s had to call the attention of whoever is posting the picture and still holds that Mic won’t attend the launch.
“If any man wan post or talk, na Mic, not you like I said u be woman”… Street King
Earlier Sunday afternoon, Miss Gina shared a post to her Facebook timeline saying, “I really don’t know why 🇨🇲 event organizers won’t be professional enough to actually book an artist for a show rather than using his Name/Image for publicity. Well, to all Mic Monsta’s supporters he won’t be at any of these events.”
Very interesting, though a little disturbing is the fact that a similar post made by Miss Gina which includes AD photos of a few other events including Street King’s “Dey Witi Ma Mendem” Video launch where Mic is expected to be present and also perform was shared on Mic Monsta’s timeline, and since then nothing but for a sarcastic quote which was shared from Mic Njorku’s Official Page reading…
“How I’m looking at all u guys using my name and pics to promote ur events but can’t afford the booking, Happy Sunday fam!”
Could it be some sort of intended publicity stunt? OR Could this mean some sort of cold era in the relations between Mic and his one “KojoMan”?
Let’s hope everyone concerned in this drama would come together and have a singular voice so that the Video Launch of our brother, Street King’s song “Dey Witi Ma Mendem” could go down well as intended at the Tiko Airport Hotel and also see a normalization in the relations of CEO of Kwata Music; Mic Njorku, his friend and also Gina, his PR Girl.
See for yourselves how the “row” transpired and leave your comments after reading to let us know what your take on this is and how this could be resolved as we keep on going all the way up to make #237 Proud.

Just recently, a Cameroonian Makeup artist was upset and also posted on her Facebook page that she has been told by people that they have been seeing her face in ads online in which she was not aware of as she never gave consent to the company that was using her picture any permission to use her pictures to promote their business, product or services.
Disclaimer: The HotJem is not taking sides with any of the aforementioned parties involved. We are only trying to bring to light a situation that could have been better handled if it is true that Mic Monsta was not allegedly booked as we have seen cases like this too many times and people need to start paying people for using their brands or names.
