Akubai’s “Yaweh” reminds you of Lara George and the artist just confirmed to TheHotJem Media that herself and Lara don’t just have physical similarities, but that Lara is someone she looks up to and their love for burning “Jehovah” is unending.
Once again, we are not comparing both, because while Yaweh is just Akubai, first official video with her home – Niki Heat, Lara George has at least six albums to her name. We are simply acknowledging grace and reminding gospel music lovers that there is so much hope for African praise gospel. It could be easier for gospel ministers/artists to make it with worship songs but with Praise jams, an artist needs exceeding grace to stay on top.
Akubai is on the right track, because since signing for Niki Heat in 2019, she has not been in a hurry to deliver, but patiently making healthy moves, releasing a mashup of “You are Great” fusing it with some popular gospel songs which saw her gain some attention.
