On Today’s episode of Gospel Ministers Across Africa, we’re focusing on two well-known African Gospel Ministers from East and West Africa, who’ve given it all for the gospel either as gospel Ministers or also as pastors. Today we take a look at the illustrious careers of Janet Otieno and Nathaniel Bassey.
Janet Otieno:
Janet Otieno, born on December 24, 1977, is a top Kenyan gospel singer, Minister, and songwriter. She gained prominence in 2013 with her song “Napokea Kwako” featuring Tanzanian gospel artist Christina Shusho.
Being one of the greatest Kenyan gospel singers of all time, she has won several awards and earned many nominations. She was recently nominated for Best Gospel Artist at the Trace Awards.
Some of her popular songs include “Napokea Kwako,” “Ni Wewe,” “Nitangoja,” “Unconditional Love,” and “Siri.”
Nathaniel Bassey:
Nathaniel Bassey was born on August 27, 1981. He’s is a prominent Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, trumpeter, and pastor.
He is well-known for his impactful gospel music and also serves as a pastor at The Oasis Lagos, the youth church of the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG) Kings Court.
He is a skilled trumpeter, a talent he often incorporates into his music. He started his musical journey in the church and played with the Rhodes Orchestra for two years.
Nathaniel Bassey is widely recognized for initiating the popular online praise and worship event known as the #HallelujahChallenge. The challenge has been massive and transformed several lives in the process.
