On today’s edition of Gospel Ministers Across Africa (GMAA), our spotlight shines on the music career of an exceptionally talented gospel singer whose impactful works too often go unnoticed.
In 2019, the Nigerian gospel music scene welcomed Gift Ugochi Christopher, artistically known as GUC, into its fold. His introduction to the industry by EeZee Conceptz, one of the most influential gospel record labels on the continent, signaled the start of his journey to prominence.
Under the wing of EeZee Conceptz, GUC has already released two impactful albums. His debut album, “The Message,” dropped in 2020, featuring powerful hit singles like “You’re All That Matters” and “Desperate,” which catapulted him to stardom with extensive airplay across the continent.
After a warm reception of his first album, GUC proceeded to release his second studio album, titled “Yahweh’s Delight” in 2023. The 13-track album was another masterpiece that cemented GUC as one of the most successful and consistent artists of his generation.
With his main instrument being his voice/vocals, he’s undeniably an outstanding live performer and has succeeded to raise other artists under his wing, who contribute to some of his most successful live concert performances.
The 30-year-old minister, born in Port Harcourt, is happily married to his sweetheart Nene Ntuk. After tying the knot in 2021, the couple welcomed their first child together a year later.
