It’s yet another day to bring to you some interestingly talented gospel ministers from across the African continent, just like we’ve been doing in the past episodes. Today’s episode of GMAA features some exciting gospel contributors in music like, GUC, Indira Baboke, and Size 8 Reborn.
- SIZE 8 REBORN – KENYA
Linet Masiro Munyali, popularly known as Size 8 Reborn, is a Kenyan gospel minister and praise singer. Born in 1987 in Nairobi, she hails from the Bukusu tribe, and grew up to fall in love with music, which she eventually made it a full time commitment. Size 8, began as a secular music artist. She dropped popular singles like “Shamba Boy”, “Vidonge”, and “Moto” before officially switching to a gospel musician in 2013. She dropped her first gospel single that year, titled “Mateke”.
She has since that time, cemented herself as one of the finest singers and contributors in the Kenyan gospel industry alongside artists like Janet Otieno. She released her debut gospel album “Chartbusters” 2017. The 8-track album was well received by her fans. She’s been married for over 10 years to DJ Muraya, with whom she has two kids. She’s one artist/minister we’d recommend for you today for your listening pleasure. 2. MINISTER GUC – NIGERIA
38-year-old Nigerian gospel minister and singer – GUC, is one of those soulful Gospel ministers you can’t help but stay glued to his timeline and channel.
GUC has only been in the Gospel industry for about five years, as he Officially debuted his Gospel career in 2019, but the kind of impact and influence he has garnered in this industry speaks volumes.
He’s signed under one of the most powerful Record labels in the country; Eezee Conceptz. Wherein, he has unleashed three powerful albums. He’s amongst the most streamed Nigerian gospel artists/ministers.
GUC’s breakthrough in the industry came with a soul-searching piece titled “All that matters”, released in 2020. He has gone on to secure his spot as one of the finest exporters of the country’s gospel music. Check out “All that Matters” below. The song has amassed a whooping 103 million views on YouTube alone.
3. INDIRA BABOKE – CAMEROON
Indira Baboke is a 21-year-old Cameroonian gospel sensation, who has been in the industry from as early as when she was just 6-years-old . Indira sings in French and besides being one of the most decorated gospel singers in the industry, she’s equally the most streamed Cameroonian gospel artist.
Indira has released four albums so far. These albums include:
- 2009: Quelle Joie
- 2012: Consécration
- 2016: Le Surnaturel
- 2020: Souffle Nouveau
She has collaborated with a host of International artists from across Africa, like Ivorian rapper KS Bloom, as well as Nigerian singer Chidinma.
Besides being the most streamed artist in Cameroon, she’s also the most followed gospel singer in Cameroon with over a million followers on Facebook and almost 500,000 YouTubeSubscribers. Mind you, besides her artistic career, she’ll soon become a medical doctor.
