The official video for Blanche Bailley’s DINGUO just got released and not sure what to think of it. The song is hot and the video which directed by Adah Akenji (who also Directed Daphne’s lasted video as SEEN HERE and which I also didnt care too much for), is OK. I’m yet to get used to his video directing style as I’m so used to or should I say spoiled to watching most Cameroonian music videos directed by Nkeng Stephens who’s video quality is usually on point. I didn’t get the point of the mannequin being in the video the entire time. I think having a real man in the video who was hot ‘n’ sexy would have made the video a lot more fun and enjoyable to watch.
Right now I could easily just listen to the song without watching the video as in my opinion the video didn’t add much value or excitement to the song. Blanche who is known for her sexy curves did not show much of it in this video and that was change in pace as I obviously expected to see a half naked version of Blanche flaunting her curvy self every moment she had. But I will say that’s not why I thought the video was boring. I’m actually glad she didn’t do the obvious. I just think more effort should have been placed in the video’s storyline and I repeat a real man for this video in particular acting as her boy toy instead of a fake white looking mannequin would have done it more justice.
