Central Africa’s most treasured uprising female artistes at the moment Vernyuy Tina and Akumba Music sure bet – RINYU have been on the spotlight for some time, and they will keep being here for as long as they can. One thing you can’t resist about these two is that they are not only good vocally. Both bring music to life in a strange manner and this feeling is mutual for many.
While many believe these two should be protected as the pride of the continent so as to bring out the best in them, many have also decided to be a reason why that objective shouldn’t be realized. May be they are unknowingly doing so, but that’s exactly what they are doing by comparing both artistes and putting them on a hot and tight seat. But then, that’s what you get when you are in a position where many have sacrificed a lot and wished to be there but never did.
However, if you are one of those people who hate it when these two are being compared, you will have to suffer it to be so, because the media is not like a palace with one ruler who will compel or subject people to some structured rules. Here (media), be it traditional or digital, anyone does exactly what suits them and that’s one thing you need to get used to. How do you want to control someone who sits in his house and say things sometimes without facts? It’s difficult!
In as much as there is a lot of heat from comparison to criticism about both, they don’t seem to have an issue with being compared as they are only focused on their craft, but at some point in time, both might have to get carried away by this pressure which isn’t likely anyway.
In 2019, we did an article about both and it was never to compare the two but to foresee what the future held for both. We were confident that Tina had it all figured out based on the challenges she had faced before hitting the spotlight and that has been her form and strength which she has maintained for the time being. We never for a moment doubted Rinyu’s greatness, and you will bare with me that she took everyone unawares, she came unannounced and if you think she’s like those traffic lights at a busy city centre, then you have got to fix up and stay woke.
Anyway, One of the reasons why you should not really have a problem when both are being compared, is that these artistes are both community artistes. Both are extremely loved by the community and you won’t be able to decide how they feel about both. We have over the years seen what comparisons have done for many artists: it forced many of them to work even beyond their ability. The wise artistes understand that there will always be comparison and as such, they prepare their minds ahead of time. Everyone is truly unique in their own way, but all that is not considered as far as award shows and nominations are concern. Matters only arise when this comparisons bring rage and hatred between artistes and that’s what we don’t wish for.
Tina has proven overtime that she is ready and can handle pressure. We can count a number of incidents that Tina has been able to handle a lot of things maturely before our eyes like being compared to Magasco and many others we won’t want to mention, but she knows exactly how to snub rumors and doubts and you should trust this.
Now the magic with Rinyu is that, she got her eyes on the prize and you should trust it. Before coming into music sphere, she had done her homework and you can tell from her presence on social media. She’s that intelligent girl with a lot of moral upbringing and social media ethic, steadily glued to her path to greatness. You don’t doubt that do you?
Considering the fact that these two know where they are coming from and where they are headed, having in mind that there will always be varied opinions about them by others, the power therefore lies in the strength of their EQ (Emotional iNtelligence).
Both don’t do the same kind of music anyway, but they both have fans and their fans will always put them on a hot seat by making them know that they are better than one another and once they can handle this, it will already be easy to ride through the cracks. The bottom line is that they will make Africa proud.
