In our music radar this week is an up and coming artist called Tasha Tee who just released her first official son called Ton Amour. We’ve never heard about this artist before but what we do know is that Tasha is Cameroonian and resides in London. We also know that she hails from the Western Region of Cameroon, specifically from Haut-Nkam. Tasha started performing at the the tender age of 3 years old in school plays and birthdays and over time, she decieded to take her career more seriously and started doing music professionally, when she was a teenager and started modestly by doing backups in studios, cabarets and was equally engaged in gospel music.
Like many other Cameroonian artist based outside of Cameroon who are trying to pursue a musical career, Tasha (who resieds in the UK), faces the challenge of standing out abroad amidst the competitive music business market in the UK. She also finds it difficult to get a reliable team to work with in Cameroon, from abroad. She believes her goals are achievable and is working hard to achieve them. In her first official song, Ton amour, which was produced by hitmaker PhillBillBeatz she sings in English, Pidgin and French, bringing the audience into her musical world with smooth lyrics and an upbeat melody. It’s a song that slowly grows on you.
