HERE’S WHY MOST MOVIE PRODUCERS PREFER MOVIE PREMIERES TO STREAMING PLATFORMS
After successfully producing a movie, every producer’s worry is often how to get the movie on the biggest platforms, and make as much money as possible from it. We could agree that not every producer has the luck to pull big strings after production but there’s always another way out.
Inability to get these movies sold or bought by huge platforms, compels the movie owner to devise other strategies on how to make as much as possible from their product.
Over the years, most Movie producers have resorted to the idea of premiering their movies in cinemas and other venues rather than submitting or uploading the movies to straming platforms. Below are some of the reasons why.
1. POSSIBILITY TO MAKE FAST MONEY :
Most Movie producers or marketers would prefer to premiere their movies, because it enables them to make fast money from their fans directly. Premieres have proven to be an effective way to get fans pay for luxurious Movie tickets. Producers use this opportunity to craft different ticket prices for their on-site fans. The money some of these fans would spend just to maintain their class, isn’t the same amount they’d pay online to stream the movie online. This gives the Producers or movie marketers the opportunity to design stuff like tables, and sitting orders, with respect to the ticket categories, hence making money instantly that streaming sites won’t guarantee at that moment.
2. INABILITY TO SELL THE MOVIE TO PLATFORMS
We should always be guided, that every producer’s aim of producing a movie, is to sell and make profit. No Producer would willingly upload their movies on a site or streaming platform that won’t generate them their money. Knowing that most of the platforms won’t easily give them their ROI, they prefer to screen or premiere their movies in venues rather than wasting their investments.
3. OPPORTUNITY FOR FANS TO MEET THEIR STARS:
In most movie premieres, fans have the opportunity to link up and share special moments with their stars. Most often, the easiest way to see the popular people they’ve always seen on TV, is to go to such events, without which it would be quite difficult. This is why most producers seize this opportunity to create red carpet moments, which intend helps in making the movie especially on social media platforms. This has proven to be an excellent marketing strategy for most producers.
4. MOVIE PREMIERES PAY FASTER THAN STREAMING PLATFORMS
Just like stated and explained in point, most movie producers would always want to have money in their hands from their project after producing it. In a case where a platform like Netflix isn’t buying the movie from the Producer, the producer would be forced to upload their movies on sites or platforms.
After doing so, they’ll need to wait for several months, or sometimes years to generate money from their craft. This process of waiting especially for a movie that isn’t a viral piece can delay other projects. As such, these producers would prefer to premiere these movies and make money directly from their fans, which permits them handle running cost as well as other expenditures.
