Today we have an interesting interview for you. We recently discovered a talented Hip-Hop artist named Tuke and after listening to a couple of his songs, we were quite interested on finding out more about him. So we decided to interview him and here is how it went down:
Hi Tuke, we are happy to be interviewing you today. Thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to do this interview with TheHotJem.com. We spotted your work recently and wanted to talk to you about it and of course yourself. So here we go…
THJ: Tell us a little bit about yourself. (In 2-3 sentences mention of your real name, what part of Cameroon are you from and where you live now).
Tuke: First I will like to say thank you for taking out time to have this conversation with me, yeah, I won’t call it an interview.
My name is Matuke Cadwelda Ntuba, yeah!! I know strange middle name for a guy and I am from the South West – Kumba to be exact born and breed, Bafaw boy to the core and for almost a decade, I have been residing in a little Dutch city called Rotterdam 010 representing.
THJ: It is a pleasure to have this “conversation” with you. Please tell us about your life in Cameroon before you traveled abroad?
Tuke: Life in Cameroon for me was good. I was born into a big family, so my parents worked really hard and did whatever they had to do to make sure I had everything I needed and some of the things I wanted.
THJ: Is the Netherlands what you thought it would be like and what do you like about the Netherlands that you didn’t have in Cameroon?
Tuke: That list will be long but off top law and order. This society is organized… its either a Yes or No, black or white. There aren’t in between but I can’t even lie I miss that ‘grey area’ we have in Cameroon. Life is way too serious here.
THJ: Now that we know a bit more about you, let’s move on to your music. Regarding your music, how did you get into music and is it a full-time career for you?
Tuke: How did I get into music? I don’t think I got into music, music has always been part of me. I love putting words together in melody. Growing up in a big family, everyone had a different preference in music so that opened my ears to different sounds and I was the music prefect in my school – BHS Kumba, though I am not really sure if I had that position for my musical abilities or (God bless the dead), if my principal was just fed-up with me skipping church services and wanted to make sure my presence was felt.
There is no plan B in this, music is what I live for so yes this is my chosen career path, but I also understand it’s important to diversify the hustle to have more than one source of income.
