HOW AFRICAN HIP-HOP IS BUILDING NEW BRIDGES AND BURNING OLD ONES DURING CONFINEMENT
Jovi’s part in the hip-hop brawl
2020 is here and Jovi is at it again and has once again gotten Twitter talking for a week now, when he asked his followers to name the hardest rappers they know in Africa.
The Cameroonian who is one the hardest rappers Africa is blessed to have proclaimed himself as the best and hardest, but showed public respect to Nigerian powerhouse M.I Abaga whose work for Nigeria Hip-Hop cannot be ignored. Jovi also showed public respect to Manifest, as he said he only respects the aforementioned.
Upon hearing and seeing this, Lyrical Joe was not satisfied as he thinks his compatriot – Sarkodie who has been influential in Ghanaian Hip-Hop is better than “Jovi” and didn’t see it worthwhile for Jovi to be put ahead of Sarkodie.

This would push the young Ghanaian whose faithful lyrical prowess cannot be underrated, to get into the studio for a diss track, his second so far aiming at Jovi, but this time, Sierra Léon top and hard-core rapper, Kao Denero was tagged and so many have seen this as disrespect to the big guns but Joe doesn’t give a F*ck about all that.
After Lyrical Joe aimed at Jovi and still didn’t get a personal reply in 2019, some Cameroonian rappers who felt disrespected by the Ghanaian went into the studio and fired back, but they barely got the attention they could have wanted as the damage was already done.
