Kameni is currently one of the most liked and supposedly bankable female artists in her country Cameroon and this didn’t happen overnight. Though many consider her “lucky”, it might suffice them to know that she has had her own struggles and what she’s getting is far beyond luck and wishes.
Born on March 9, 1993, Cameroonian female artist Ebude Kate Kameni popularly known as Kameni, recently turned 27 and her journey is an inspiration to every young lady out here in the Entertainment Industry. Born and raised in Limbe, Kameni attended Government Bilingual High school and later moved to Buea for higher education where she studied Marketing at HIMS, a popular professional school in Buea.
It can be said that though Kameni was already a music enthusiast, especially growing around her dad who was an instrumentalist, her music career and journey propelled when she went to Buea, a town where most influential artists in the country drew their Inspiration from.
After coming in contact with Mr. Leo who became a mentor and now a team mate, Kameni has gotten better and better by the day. She featured in Mr. Leo’s video for his hit song “On Va Gérer” six years ago as the main video vixen.
She later triggered her career with Many music covers and mashups until it was time for her to be revealed in 2019 as the next female singer to watch out for. This is when she signed for Lionn Production alongside Gomez.
Many might still not have believed in Kameni’s potential even if she had viral mashup songs already, but the future wasn’t all clear especially as Mr.Leo had just quitted Alpha Better Records. However, her consistency and hunger to grow have been ingredients spicing her career. Mr. leo in an interview once revealed that he had promised to support her career but was limited due to the fact that he didn’t yet have the resources to sponsor another artist’s projects.
Fast foward to 2019 when he fulfilled his promise to Kameni and she’s now spreading like wild fire! Mr Leo can’t regret putting his trust and resources on her can he? With viral hits likes: “Boss”, “Nayo Nayo”, an EP titled “Love & Hustle” and a few collabos with artists like Tzy Panchak , Stanley Enow , MiNk’s to name a few, Kameni continues to earn respect for the work and dedication she’s putting in her music career.
Unlike her, many artist give up after being snubbed and that hurts real bad especially when they know they’re really good and are confident about what they can bring to the table.
It’s rumored that Alpha Better Records snubbed her and didn’t give her a chance but we can count it all joy. Kameni above all odds has become an inspiration to many female Singers as it stands and she continues to break bounds with her talent.
