According to scholars, a topic defines a particular aspect that will be covered in conversation or in any written form, whereas subject is used in context to a wider aspect of knowledge. A subject cannot be a part of a topic whereas a subject may have many topics covered in it.
Our TOPIC for today was supposed to be Ko-c but he’s already a subject so how do we break it down ? Please follow through.
Born on November 18, 1992 in Kumba, Cameroon, Njang Collins popularly known musically as Ko-c, has become an undeniable reference based on the difference he has made since hitting the spotlight in 2015.
What still appears unbelievable is how he has rapidly switched from just a topic to a subject. The metamorphism has been incredible and this has been hard work, smart work, Consistency , bravery , risk bearing and diligence all put together. With a degree from HIMS-BUEA among many of his other achievements, he’s educationally qualified and business savvy.
Ko-c, while still signed under BTS Empire in early 2015, was in contact with the likes of Dready Christ, who with others are undeniably contributors to his exceptional career. While they Teamed up to form a strong group Preach It Movement (P.I.M) boys, Ko-c sure had other plans, his vision was surely not average.
After the release of “Ici Au Kamer”, a tune that exposed Ko-c’s “Sarkodieness”, it was a somewhat a confirmation of a new breeze blowing along the shores of the music Industry; one of the fastest rapper in Central Africa was born.
He would become a topic of every discussion. Big Dreams Entertainment would come calling and he would irresistibly join #Locko the only Artist at the label by then and the rollercoaster would move smoothly. However, Locko would leave the label, leaving Ko-c as the main focus this was after their synthetic and sintillating collaboration titled “I love you”. Starring Briana Lesley
Just a few years after being signed under this Label, he made his mark as a reliable Hit maker with international hits like “Bolo”, “Sango” ft Fanicko , “Balance Remix” “Do like I Do” ft MIMIE etc. After his five year spell with the Label, it was time to be independent. This was Ko-c Gradually becoming the Subject.
Five years later, Ko-c is an inspiration to a lot of Cameroonian artists especially those from the Anglophone Region, with many uprising ones idolizing him. After establishing his own label Power House Entertainment , he’s been able to unveil Mad hits like “Pala Pala” and out of the blue, the most trending song from 2020 “Caleçon” feat Coco Argentée which currently stands at approximately 10 million views in less than 8months. His YouTube channel has amassed over 216k subscribers.
With many amazing artists still unable to successfully unveil a single hit in their career but almost all of Ko-c’s songs have been hits, it’s tempting to say if there were to be a subject for hit songs, then it would be Ko-c.
It could have been luck if he did it once but doing over and over again is far From. It safe to wonder the like of marketing, music and lifestyle books that he reads.
Above all, his branding and public relations has been very phenomenal. Like it or not, he’s earned his place and continues to do so. His album Genesis will be released in the days ahead with no confirmed fixed date.
