Ace Nigerian musician, Wiz Ofuasi, popularly known as Wizboy has taken to his social media handle to slam a Nigerian blogger who said his music career ended in 2012.
The multi-talented producer, instrumentalist, and audio engineer, was one of the hottest artists in the continent from the last decade, pulling unforgettable hits like “Salamba” , “Lovinjitis”, “One Plus One” and many others.
“I’ve earned my bragging rights as one of biggest music exporters from Nigeria, check my fanbase” – The “Fotojenik” singer stated in his viral video.
Well, this isn’t a lie for many music lover who knows exactly how good Wiz has been over the years. Artists like Davido, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and some new cats, might be making rounds now but no one in their right senses will stoop low to disrespect Ofuasi’s contributions.
He’s not from this younger generation because he has been in the spotlight since 2005 and can beat his chest as one of the most successful artists in Nigeria and Africa at large.
He is one of the first Nigerian artists to break into the interenational and the French market with his hit song “Lovinjitis”. He went as far as collaborating with artists like Teeyah, a collaboration that made him a fan-favorite in Ivory Coast.
Wizboy has toured in over 30 countries and although it’s hard to break down the singer’s achievements, it’s imperative to single out the fact that even with YouTube coming later to Africa, he still managed to have songs that have over 100 million views on the platform.
Saying that the singer failed or didn’t hit expected heights is misinformation and somewhat disrespectful to his incredible work.
