Australian rapper has called on music record labels to take employment of psychologists as part of their team very serious. According to her, artists mental health is highly neglected and with the pressure artists get from fans and media, altogether with hate speech affects their performance and state of being.
Mental health is real in the music industry as the stress level is often higher due to high stakes, expectations and pressure from stakeholders for artists to be successful, as well as the high expectations artists put on themselves. This might explain why there is seemingly a higher rate of drug and alcohol intake in the music industry as artists turn to these methods to deal with their daily activities.
