In 2010, Nigerian superstar singer Oladapo Daniel Oyebanjo aka D’banj did a song that would go on to change his life forever He released “Mr. Endowed” produced by Don Jazzy which would attract a collaboration with Snoop Dog in 2011 (Mr. Endowed remix). This was a period when the Nigerian music industry saw a remarkable breakthrough for their efforts and long suffering and it needed a certain talented D’banj to shine the light.
It could have appeared like his personal project but it would go on to pave a way for the Nigerian Music industry and since that time, things have never been the same ! We now watch Nigerians penetrating the US and Western Markets and it never used to be as easy as it looks now.
The Cameroonian entertainment (also referred to as “237 entertainment) industry which has been struggling to break lose might just be witnessing a breakthrough with Salatiel ‘s recent collabo with Beyonce’s Water song for The Lion King soundtrack. This is for the records is one of the biggest of its kind for the industry, an opportunity that could have taken a million years and still not come but it has come and it just depends on what Salatiel and Cameroonians can do with it.
There is no doubt that Salatiel has humbled himself under the whole armor and the fact that doesn’t try to sit on others because of this huge opportunity could just be taking the music industry to another level. Cameroonians need to make maximum use of this heavyweight opportunity lest they lose it, because this might never come again. If Salatiel was invited to feature in “Black is king” it should then be an eye opener that people know that the industry exists but just need a reason to step in.
Question: Do you think this is a breakthrough opportunity for 237? If yes, how can this be used properly?
