Vibe is an American music and entertainment magazine founded by producer Quincy Jones. Quincy who also happens to be a legendary producer in american pop and jazz history who produced Michael Jackson’s First Two Hit albums that made him a super star and also Executive Produced Richard Bona’s Latest Album.
The publication predominantly features R&B and hip-hop music artists, actors and other entertainers and has It’s Online version, www.vibe.com. In a recent article entitled : “ATL To The Motherland: The Rise of Afro-Trap” which takes a look at the creation and rise of Afro-Trap in recent time, Vibe threw the spotlight on a number of artist of African Origin and Jovi was one of them. Reaching out to Jovi, the magazine recognized him as one of the African artist leading the way for Afro-Trap Music.
Talking to Vibe, Jovi explains : “There is traditional music in Cameroon where you can see where trap and that music meets. Every hip-hop producer has a twist to their music. Scott Storch had the Indian strings. Dr. Dre had the piano riffs. And the Soulquarians had jazz. When I produce my hip-hop, I sample from African music and I respect the rules on both sides to come up with a hybrid that sounds good … But at the end of the day you have a disadvantage because it’s new to people’s ears.”
Vibe, threw light on some of Jovi’s hit songs like “Cash” and “Positioning” while describing his musical style. Check out the Video of his 2014 Hit track, “CASH” as seen above! The American Magazine also featured Music from Kiff No Beat, Sarkodie and MHD. Check Out the Full article HERE
We at THJ wish JOVI much more success in his career even though he seems to be doing just fine with his Career, NewBell Music Record Label and Super talented Artists like Reniss and Pascal.
