Lady Gaga after ten years had never told anyone not even her family that she was once a victim of sexual assault. But after her performance at the Oscars on February 29th, 2016 (where she had real life sexual assault survivors on the stage as seen in the picture below), she decided to come out clean with her family and friends. She declared that she was too ashamed of what had happened because of her Catholic faith and thought it best to keep it to herself. Gaga put up posts on Instagram revealing her conversation with her grandmother and aunt saying how proud they were of her and the woman she has become.
The singer also took time to thank her fiancée Taylor Kinney for giving her the love she never thought she would have and also for his undying support. She hopes that her speaking out about it will encourage others to do same. Read more about this years Oscar Award Show HERE, HERE and HERE.
