Lady Ponce might be the first and only female artist from Cameroon to announce the release of an album (not EP), an ACTUAL ALBUM this yea called Supreme. In a time where releasing singles and EP’s reigns over releasing album’s in the Cameroonian music industry, with the exceptions of a few artists who took the dive into albums, like Magasco’s 30 song Hearts album, Salatiel’s (and Stanley Enow) both of whom have announced the release of their respective albums scheduled for Q4 of 2019 and a few others, it made us realize that Cameroonians are slowly getting into the album mindset.

Also, since there seems to be no signs of any Cameroonian female artist that we have heard of who plans on releasing an EP let alone an album in 2019, when Lady Ponce unveiled the release of Supreme, it brought some hidden joy but also raised the question, “Why aren’t more female singers from Cameroon releasing albums too? That will be a topic for another day but until then, let’s keep our fingers crossed that more female artists will jump on this “album” bandwagon.
