One of the downsides of being a popular artist and/or having a hit song is that many might copy from you! As much as being copied from might be flattering and signs that you are doing something good enough that people want to copy from, when it comes to music (as well as anything else) you can’t just copy parts of a song from another song or closely imitate another artists music without prior agreement with the artist who originally sang the song and/or their record label as it can be considered as Music Plagiarism. Such is seemingly the case with this new song called Aleo Duo by an artist from Madagascar called Black Nadia whose real names are Kantoniaina Ornella Edith Nadia, a well known singer and songwriter from Madagascar.
Black Nadia recently released a lyrics video for her new song called “Aleo Duo” but when you listen to the song, the chorus sounds eerily similar to that of Cameroonian Artist Shura’s hit song “Allez Dire” which was released back in January of 2018 and its video released on Februray 14th, 2018 and written and produced by DJ CFX. THJ was tipped off by a fan of Shura, who had stumbled on the Aleo Duo song on YouTube and instantly noted the similarity to Shura’s Allez Dire song. (Even the title Aleo Duo is similat to Allez Dire).
We have reached out to Shura’s Record label (Steven’s Music Entertainment LLC) to find out more about this and have received no response from them. We will bring you more information on this story unfolds.
Artists, there is something called Copyright infringement. Please be VERY careful when you are using another artist’s work to create yours. It can destroy your career if legal action is taken. Always remember to reach out to the artist’s record label prior to you using any part of their work.
Listen to Shura’s Allez Dire Song HERE and then listen to Black Nadia’s Aleo Duo’s song HERE and tell us what you think.
Did Black Nadia copy Shura’s song? You be the Judge!
