Yeaaaah it’s Christmas Day today! This Christmas is very special since I’m spending it with my family whom I don’t get to see very often for logistical reasons! So it’s quite exciting that we are all spending Christmas 2014 together! I spent the morning taking selfies with my sister Tia who owns TRENDY by TIA boutique after Mass especially since we both had a long week revamping her boutique (which I will post in another blog so look out for it)!
The typical Cameroonian Christmas usually consists of a variety of dishes usually reflecting what part of Cameroon you are from. In our case, since we were spending it with family and family friends, there was a variety of foods to indulge in! My favorite being Jellof Rice, Egusi Pudding, Kwa Coco and Banga soup. Oh and did I mention desserts??? I totally stayed away from the desserts as I couldn’t see myself walking to the dessert table after three servings of food 🙂
On days like this I think of how lucky I am to have the gift of family! There are people out there who don’t have anyone to celebrate this day with. If you are that person do not despair and thank God that you are alive and well. As hard as it may be always try to remember the good things in your life. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas like I did. How did you spend your Christmas Day?
Oh and for the record I did NOT eat all three plates of food alone! I shared some with my sister Tia 😉
